The 4 things that gave me a 7,500% ROI on Google Ads

In 2018, after a few years working as a Digital Strategist for a well-known advertising firm, I moved client-side and took on the same role at a software firm. I was the only person in the marketing department and the position predictably evolved into a full-stack marketer. With one of the firm’s products struggling to gain traction through other means, I started exploring Google Ads and, after studying the platform, we launched a Search campaign in late May 2018, with a YouTube campaign joining it in September 2019.

It was super effective.

Both campaigns are ongoing, with sales conversions showing a return on investment (ROI) of 7,525.92% as of writing this article (December 4th, 2020).

To optimize my ads, I studied and got certified by Google, but also read A TON of articles on optimization, and one thing quickly became clear: there are a lot of bullshit SEO-optimized articles out there farming our clicks with little to no juice in them.
